BEAT HEART DISEASE WITHOUT SURGERY: SUPPORTIVE SELF-HELP MEASURES AND OTHER TREATMENT OPTIONS
MAINTENANCE and management of circulatory health depends largely on each individual’s particular needs and problems, once the main thrust of the controlling therapies (such as chelation, ozone, etc.) have played their part.
After stabilization, choices widen considerably, and may include regular courses of supportive therapies such as some of those described below, or the more direct route/exploration of how to achieve reduction of stress, since this has to be considered a major factor both in the control of existing arterial disease and the prevention of its recurrence.
Management of stress will also help with subsidiary measures such as in giving up smoking or drinking to excess or quitting eating a favourite food which is known to be bad for the circulation.
In both orthodox and alternative circles, stress management for those with arterial disease is being recognized as one of two major health issues once the disease has been brought under control.
Most people recognize that the reduction of stress is important, but think it arises only as a result of pressures from work, relationships, family or financial pressures, not realizing that in fact the body recognizes stress from no less than four different sources. Examining them all can pin-point an unsuspected source of Problem.
Chemical stress (such as air pollution, radon gas, pesticides, cigarette smoking, fumes incurred while travelling to and from regular employment, as well as internal sources such as alcohol consumption, drug taking – including prescribed ones such as chemotherapy – even
anti-stress drugs such as sleeping pills and tranquillizers!)
Physical trauma. Having an accident, a fall and injury, or a surgical operation, such as bypass surgery
Infections. Anything from colds and ‘flu to ME and AIDS
Emotional stress (marital problems, employment problems, financial problems, family issues and responsibilities)
The first three categories of stress may be more difficult to avoid since they are occupational and environmental: however, protective measures should be taken wherever possible, such as installing air or water purifiers in the home and taking great care in the choice of household cleaning agents, sprays, and garden products, so that safer forms are favoured to those which are more toxic. (The cardioneurological system is particularly vulnerable to neurotoxic chemicals whether from pesticides, pollutants, such as lead in drinking water, or food additives.)
Noise pollution is a stress factor as well and as much care as possible should be taken to minimize it, and if it affects sleep, try getting used to ear plugs.
Physical trauma is sometimes unavoidable (or seems that way – actually we are far more accident prone when we are tired so we should be more careful then), but much can be done to protect oneself from minor (and major) infections by daily doses of sufficient supplies of protective vitamins, such as Vitamin C, and minerals.
