HOW TYPE A (HIGH ACHIEVERS) ACHIEVE HEART DISEASE: ORAL CHELATION
This is a specific form of nutrition directed at first to complementing the intravenous chelation therapy, and subsequently to maintaining the vitamin/mineral status quo. It is designed to replace any wanted minerals which the therapy may have removed and to provide the body, during the recovery period, with ample stores of protective minerals which are often in short supply in the modern diet, such as magnesium and selenium – the average British diet, for example, does not supply anything like sufficient amounts of these two protective minerals.
Vitamins and trace elements are also given to enhance the metabolism of enzymes in the arterial wall and these will then protect against the atherosclerotic process.
A typical formula for oral chelation is as follows and can be seen to be an extremely comprehensive vitamin/mineral supplement which in fact could be taken all the time, though in lower dosage than the eight tablets daily recommended during the treatment course.
The Arterial Disease Clinic in the UK developed the following formula after lengthy observation of circulatory patients’ characteristic needs and deficiencies. It is made up in America – a truly international operation. NB: what is interesting is that the dosages given are expressed in percentages of the US RDAs (official recommended daily allowance figures for vitamins/minerals to maintain health) which yet again indicate the widening gap drinking is also not recommended because of the high amounts of recognized.
This impressive supplement is made by Douglas Laboratories in Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. It gives basically a guideline of what to look for when choosing a supplement with application to circulatory disease. Some of the minor ingredients are herbs which are known to have a beneficial effect on the circulation, such as ginko, hawthorne and mistletoe, and these must be considered optional in the context of a regular supplement.
