1. For kidney stones: in addition to above, 500 mg. magnesium oxide. For severe nephritis: massive doses of vitamin C, up to 5,000 mg., plus 500 mg. bioflavonoid complex, in addition to above.
2. Harvard University studies showed that supplementary B6 and magnesium can help to prevent kidney stone formation.
3. Herbal remedy, which is claimed to be able to dissolve kidney stones, is called Dyer’s root, also known as madder or as Rubia Tinctorum. (Dr. A. Vogel.)
4. Cranberry juice is an old folk remedy – also used by some doctors and clinics today – for kidney stones and pyelonephritis. Cranberries contain quinic and benzoic acids, as well as bacteriostatic substances that pass unchanged through the kidneys and urinary tract. Cranberry juice raises the acidity of the urine, creating an unfavorable environment for pathogenic bacteria.
