BIOLOGICAL TREATMENTS OF LIVER TROUBLE
1. Juice fast, 7 to 10 days, with emphasis on beet juice.
2. For congested, “clogged” and “toxic” liver, a special liver, detoxifying juice fast for 3 days, as follows:
Mix fresh juice of 10 lemons in two quarts of water, sweeten with natural honey. Drink one glass every two hours. Also, twice daily drink a green vegetable juice mixed with about 50 percent red beet juice.
After the juice fast, two weeks of the Airola Diet as above.
Repeat the fast if necessary.
3. Another widely used liver cleansing method is as follows: On two evenings, take one cup made of equal parts of fresh lemon juice and olive oil (2 oz. of each). On third evening take a double dose (4 oz. of each). On the following morning, take an enema. Follow it with a second enema to which 1 cup freshly brewed coffee has been added. This coffee enema should be retained for as long as possible – up to 20 minutes. Repeat coffee enema in the evening.
This method effectively cleanses out both liver and gall bladder. Especially recommended in cases of gallstones.
4. Many biologically-oriented doctors recommend using animal liver, liver tablets or liver extract in the treatment of liver disorders. This treatment was beneficial a few decades back when healthy animal livers were obtainable. In view of the fact that presently available animal livers are all loaded with poisons (liver is the detoxifying organ which filters and stores poisons), we cannot recommend such treatment, unless totally poison-free liver can be obtained. Some manufacturers sell desiccated reindeer liver tablets from Alaskan deer, which are supposed to be relatively free from poisons. A specially low-heat processed desiccated liver from Argentine animals may be OK’.
